Cool Celebration Dessert

In celebration of Annabelle's award we made her favorite dessert. I'm not sure what you call it, so we call it the Cool Celebration dessert. It's made in a small glass pan with a layer of ice cream sandwiches topped with cool whip and chopped up Milky Way bars (or any other favorite candybar), then another layer of the sandwiches, cool whip and candy. Let it set up in the freezer before cutting like cake and eat.

Remember any summer day can be a
Cool Celebration Dessert day!

Another Presidential Excellence in Academics Award!

We have a lot of pride in our house these days. I hate to brag but it appears the academic excellence runs in the family. Annabelle earned the Presidential Excellence in Academics Award this year. She had to carry a 3.5 grade point average throughout grades first to sixth and achieve 85% or better in Math or Language on the Terra Nova's (A National test). Happy to say Annabelle, like her brother, has exceeded all these criterias.

Here she is with her award at school.

Here she is crossing the stage. They had her picture really big on the screen.

This is Annabelle with her friend Maddy. She too got the award.
I can see why they are friends in this picture. They both chose not to dress up, but
to wear their favorite T-shirts. Girls!

8th Grade Graduation (Part 1)

Let me introduce to you, Martino Jr. High 2011 8th Grade Graduate ...

Scott!
He graduated with First Honors and received the
Presidential Academic Excellence Award - again!
He received this in 6th Grade too. We were so
surprised and very proud.

With over 325 graduates, it was hard to get a picture of them all. Here is Scott standing in recognition of First Honors.

We are very proud to say the least of Scott. He has developed into a great young man with a fun personality. We look forward to seeing him grow further as he enters high school and surrenders the blue and gold colors he has worn for the last 8 years and starts to wear Lincoln-Way Central High School colors of Red and Black.
So long Vikings, hello Knights!
