Mark Cooks dinner

Last weekend, my husband kindly grilled us a fabulous seafood dinner. It was a great evening and we were enjoying an easy going day around the house. The day was so enjoyable that we ended up eating dinner around 8 pm. It was well worth it though. I guess watching those Chef Ramsey shows really got him going! We had shrimp with garlic and butter, asparagus, salmon, red potatoes and a green salad. Everything was really good.

Randy and Baseball

My nephew Randy is playing T-ball this year. Of course, the kids are so ready for pitch ball that the teams introduced coach pitch ball a couple weeks early and the kids are loving it!

Seeing Randy growing up has been such a joy. He's a fun, sweet kid. It's great to see him in training for the White Sox, even though I wish it was for the Cubs!

Catching Up!

I have been a bit busy at work these past few weeks and have not had a chance to update my blog! So this entry will hopefully catch everyone up on recent happenings!

Grace came over for a cousins sleepover a couple weeks back. We had a lot of fun too. The kids made their own pizza's, played outside, played with the Mojo, watched the movie "Hotel for Dogs" and then slept in the family room. The next morning we had a pancake breakfast and Grace, who was worn out, layed with Scott while he played video games in the basement. I don't understand why every time I take my children's pictures these days that they insist on opening their mouths!

My nephew, Randy, graduated from preschool! He's in the back row, on the end, closest to us. (Sorry the picture is so bad - I left my camera in the truck and only had my Iphone to take the photo with). The graduation program was really cute and Randy made us so proud when he was asked to hold the flag for the pledge of allegiance!

Presidential Award

Every parent encourages their children to do well in school. Mark and I have been blessed to have two very intelligent children who actually are doing well in school. Scott recently gave me an invitation from the school inviting his parents to an awards ceremony, where our son, will be getting the President's Award for Education Excellence. I can not express enough how proud I am of Scott. I actually had tears of joy when I read the invite. We can only hope that Scott continues his academic success. Scott will be in good company on awards night too, because his good friend Jacob also will be receiving this award. Below is the description of the award per the District Handbook.

Happy Early Birthday Scott

Scott's birthday isn't until July, but he really needed and wanted a new bike. Mark and I had planned on giving him a new one for his birthday, so we told him this was an early birthday gift. He agreed and is so excited about this new bike. Mark has been ill, so Scott and I went and picked it out. Scott even rode the bike in the store! Since Scott is an early riser, he's been getting out and riding his bike every morning this week before riding his new bike off to school. (I don't know what he's doing in the picture, other than showing his enthusiasm!)

Baptism

My cousing Theresa and her husband Bill invited us to their second daughter, Mya's baptism on Sunday. It was very nice even though it was so hard to hear the Priest. New church, horrible sound system! It was really ashame that the only notible thing during the ceremony was the Priest could not state Mya's name correctly. He would say Mia or Myra????
Since the sound was so bad, Scott and Annabelle, along with a lot of the adults had a hard time focusing on the ceremony. Here's the two checking out Scott's sketches. After church we went to Sanfrantello's in Tinley Park. It was so good. I wish I had taken photos of the 60+ people, but I was too busy enjoying the family and eating the delicious food! We all had a very nice time. Thanks Theresa and Bill for the invite. Your girls are so precious.

Sketching

Scott has become quite the sketcher these days. I thought I would share these two. He's only 11 and really likes to draw. If you are interested in seeing more Mojo sketches check out his blog at www.mojosspot.blogspot.com or click on the Mojo link to the right on our blog sight www.priespage.blogspot.com
