weekend

This weekend included a trip to the Bass Pro Shop. Why the children and I went along with Mark is beyond me but it ended up being entertaining. Of course, life with my children always seems to be entertaining these days.

OH NO- A bear!!! Run!! No just stand there and pose for Mom.
Scott was feeling a little love from the boat seats. You know having a camera on your phone is very fun!

Nephews and Birthdays!

Okay, I have several nieces and nephews. But, only two of my nephews, Randy and Seth, have the same birthday. So we have a lot of party time in February. On Friday, my nephew Randy had a party at Chuck E. Cheese's with all his friends and he invited some cousins too! I couldn't resist a chance to play Skeet Ball so I took off work early to make the festivities with my kids. The party was a blast. Chuck E. Cheese was a great sport and high fived everyone at the table!
Randy 5!!!! The party Group! Scott and Annabelle going for a ride!

Grandma with Seth 1! Chuck E. dances!!!!

Seth's 1st Birthday Party was on Saturday. This too was a large event. These boys are so loved.
My sister, Paula made and decorated the cakes. The cake was delicious!!! Seth did end up demolishing the cake with his hands. (Sorry no photo of this!) He made us proud!
Steven, my brother, had put together a montage of pictures of Seth's first year. We viewed it while we ate. It was really cool.

Randy turns 5!!!!

My nephew Randy turns 5 on the 20th. His birthday party was this past weekend, since he shares his birthday with his cousin Seth who will be 1 on the 20th. Randy's party was a lot of fun with old fashion games, like musical chairs, pin the tail on the donkey and a pinata!!! The theme was Batman. Randy even ran around the house in a Batman costume for part of the party. The weather was so nice for this party that we stood outside to enjoy the weather for a spell. It's weird having 60 degree weather in February, but oh so refreshing. We all had a wonderful time with great company, food and fun.
Riley, Randy's younger sister, allowed Uncle Mark to hold her!! This is a big step for her. She's always evaded him. Maybe it's because he pokes her??

Happy 10th Annabelle!

Annabelle celebrated her 10th birthday with her dog, Mojo's, first birthday! She wanted to have a party that celebrated both so we did. On her actual birthday we went out for dinner (without the dog). The wait staff even sang happy birthday to her. Saturday, we had the families over and had a great time. I made and decorated the cake Annabelle wanted. We added our homemade sugar cookies to the cake. YUMM!!!

We served tacos for food and it seemed to go over well. We ended the party watching the AKC dog show. What a perfect day to have this party!

Stopping Time

There has been many times in my life that I wish time would just stop or it would fly by too fast. The fact that my kids are 11 and soon to be 10, that I'm already 40, my family has lived in New Lenox almost 7 years already and that I've been back to work for 3, leaves me wondering how? I'm sure you get it and have experienced the same thing. Time really moves fast - doesn't it?

Well, I've discovered a way to stop time. To make each day longer, each hour drag. It's simple too. You just need to place yourself on a health regiment. You know DIET. When you diet each minute/hour until your next meal is ever dragging. Thirty minutes never seemed so long until I stepped on my elliptical! The weeks between weigh ins drag. I'm on week two at our office's Biggest Loser contest. Never knew how long my work days could be! So if you want to slow down time - join me and start taking care of yourself!

First Time!

Since it was too cold to play outside and the kids had been stuck in the house from snow days last Thursday and Friday, we decided to go to the movies. We invited my Mom and my 4 (almost 5) year old nephew Randy to go with. When we called to ask if he wanted to go, we found out he had never been to the movies before. So we made it a special event! The movie "Hotel for Dogs". Cute movie that actually had a story line - wow, what a nice surprise. We were first in line to get our seats for the movie. The line was so long that it had to continue on the other side of the hall. Randy was a trooper. He never complained while we waited and seemed to have a great time. We sat in the front row of the main seating area, right in the middle! Great view. Randy stated "The screen's not so big" after we sat him in booster so he could sit higher. L.O.L.!!! He also wanted to know why so many little kids kept getting up and walking around! He thought they needed to sit down and watch the movie.

When the movie was over, I asked a Theater manager if they had any posters of the movie we just saw, for my first time movie going nephew. The manager asked me to go over to customer service and wait just a moment. We did and he came out and gave Randy a full size poster of the movie "Hotel for Dogs". It was so much fun sharing this experience with Randy.
