Archery Leagues

Annabelle at leagues for archery. There are usually 10 spots and several targets labeled with the coordinating number. There is a scoring system for each target hit within zones. She gets three arrows for each target, therefor shooting a total of 30 arrows a competition. As you can see, she has a pretty good stance, which makes a huge difference in your accuracy. We are so proud of Annabelle who was willing to learn and applying what she's learned to competing. The back wall of the range is 40 yards. I'd say come watch, but she competes at 7:30 am on Saturdays. Insane. For those locals wondering where this is, it's in Shorewood at Strictly Fishing and Strictly Archery.

The poor targets!

Each round of competition has a bonus round. The first week
Annabelle hit a mock silver dollar at 15 yds. This was the second
week bonus which no one made, but her and another competitor
got close. Yes, that's a floating ping pong ball which was
set at 20 yds. - CRAZY!

Annabelle turned 12!

Mojo and Annabelle's birthday cake. No Mojo didn't get to eat any.

It's been a month and I don't where the time has gone, but Annabelle celebrated her 12th birthday along with Mojo's 3rd the end of January. We enjoyed having some family and food to celebrate. Annabelle received her own compound bow with arrows. She was so surprised when we took to the range that morning for what she thought was range time with a leased bow. She's been making good use of her bow in leagues and will compete for FINALS next week and we can't wait to see the tally of the last 4 weeks. She's been in the lead so far! Good Luck Annabelle.

Scott's new ride

He wishes, beside being only 13, I don't think Dad will ever let the kid drive this. Mark's 4 door Lumina sedan has served our family well for many miles - more than 200,000. Since Mark and I realize that changing cars is not anything we can afford to do accept maybe every dozen or so years. I told him to buy something that he wanted. Since I drive the family vehicle, he might as well drive something fun! It's fun for me too.
So here she is... Mark's new ride.

2011 Dodge Challenger - dirty already, after driving it this morning!

I have yet to ride in it, but Annabelle's been in it lots already. She went with Mark to pick it up and then to Archery this morning in style. Jealous? for SURE! I know I'll get my turn soon. :)
