Arena Ball

Scott on Defense - White Jersey #22

#22! Tall man on the team.

Scott is playing Arena Football and loving it. It's played indoors on a field only 50 yards long. For those of you who are not football junkies, it's half the length of an outdoor field. Thankfully the walls are padded but if you touch the padding you are out of bounds. There are some other quirky but fun rules too, like when you kick a field goal if the ball goes off the side nets you can rebound it and run it in for another touchdown. It's a fun, fast paced game and only played with 8 guys a side. Since it's indoors we see a lot of balls kicked a little too high and hitting the rafters. DUCK! Good kickers are a must in this game. Scott's team is so far undefeated (3 games in) and have been for the last three years. Let's hope they stay on that roll. They are appropriately named "MPX Storm". We have 6 more games this season before playoffs.

Love the downsizing concept. Reminds me of platform tennis -- played outdoors in the winter (the floors are heated to melt the snow). It's 1/3 the size of a tennis court. Four people on each side and you can use the screens that surround the court. Great fun!
